Our River Jack gravels are nominally sized, meaning, typical sizes run 3 to 5 inches representing a middle/average size. There will be some within that size range, that are smaller, and some larger than the nominal size.Delaware Quarries River Jacks are not produced to any ASTM standard, as we sell our product as decorative landscape stone only. For this example lets use the 3 to 5 inch River Jacks. The screens are made up of squares, so in the instance of 3 to 5 inch, there is a possibility of a stone up to 7 inch plus, in one dimension if the stone, clearing the screen, if it hits the screen diagonally. This sizes only one dimension of the stone and the other dimension will vary, sometime greatly. In a load of our nominally sized 3 to 5 inch River Jacks, a small percentage may be smaller or larger due to the nature of quarrying and loading. This process results in our nominally sized River Jacks.
